Theodore Gray's element-collection project, selling photographic periodic table posters, cards and physical element samples alongside a reference site with thousands of specimen photos.
Budsies
Turns a child's drawing or any photo into a custom stuffed animal, pillow or pair of socks. The appeal is that the finished plush keeps every strange proportion of the original sketch.
Frog & Toad Press
A small Providence-based shop describing itself as purveyors of lighthearted non-perishables, selling greeting cards, pins, magnets and other printed goods with a dry sense of humour.
Legami
A Milan brand making colourful stationery, diaries, calendars and small gadgets with a playful design language. Its novelty pens, lamps and desk items land squarely in gift territory.
Youtooz
Makes numbered vinyl collectibles of internet personalities, memes and streamers, released in timed drops that sell out fast. Each figure ships in a box styled like a video thumbnail.
Ellusionist
A magic company making magicians since 2001, selling trick decks, gimmicks and video training aimed at turning buyers into performers. Also produces its own designer playing cards.
Luckies of London
The company that popularised the Scratch Map, a world map you scratch off as you travel. Beyond maps it sells travel gadgets and gift items aimed at the same wanderlust audience.
Mathmos
The British company that invented the lava lamp in 1963 and still manufactures them in the UK. Founder Edward Craven Walker's original design is sold directly from the factory.
Steve Jackson Games
The Austin publisher behind Munchkin, the card game that turns dungeon crawling into backstabbing, plus Illuminati, Car Wars and GURPS. Long-running and unapologetically nerdy.
Ruff House Print Shop
A print shop making snarky greeting cards, journals, mugs and desk goods, all designed and produced in-house. The voice is blunt and the print quality is deliberately good.
Wild Ink Press
A letterpress studio producing illustrated greeting cards across birthdays, weddings, babies and thank-yous, with a hand-drawn house style. Cards are printed in small runs.
Outlaw Soaps
Makes soap, lotion, lip balm and solid cologne scented like the Wild West: campfire, whiskey and, most famously, bacon. The gag is that the scents are genuinely well made.
Looney Labs
An independent game publisher best known for Fluxx, the card game whose rules change as you play, plus Loonacy and pyramid games. Family-run and deliberately small-batch.
Brittany Paige
An independent designer selling pop-culture and current-events greeting cards, pins and prints under her own name. Designs tend to be timely, blunt and one-liner driven.
Cuddle Clones
Turns photos of your pet into a custom plush replica, along with slippers, socks and figurines in the same likeness. Results range from touching to genuinely unsettling.
Sapling Press
A Pittsburgh letterpress studio printing blunt, funny greeting cards along with mugs, keychains and trinket trays. Cards are printed on vintage presses in small batches.
Malicious Women Co.
A woman-owned candle company in Snohomish, Washington making hand-poured soy candles with bold, sweary labels. It sells retail, wholesale and custom-labelled batches.
One Drop YoYos
A high-end yo-yo maker machining its throws in Eugene, Oregon, with a community site attached. The company is known for its Side Effects interchangeable axle system.
Near Modern Disaster
A small independent brand selling irreverent cards, magnets and gift goods, sold direct and through a wholesale catalogue to stockists. Designs are made in-house.
Crowd Supply
A crowdfunding platform devoted to original open hardware, where independent engineers launch the kind of oddball device no mass manufacturer would greenlight. Projects range from strange keyboards to niche radios and scientific instruments.
Dalibor Farny
A Czech workshop that revived the manufacture of Nixie tubes, the glowing cold-cathode digits abandoned in the 1970s, and builds handmade clocks around them. Each tube is made by hand in a restored castle.
Yetch Studio
The product studio of Simone Giertz, the inventor known online for deliberately terrible robots. Yetch sells the ideas that actually work, described as unique solutions to everyday problems, including the Every Day Calendar.
Bad Annie's / Sweary Goods
A gift shop built around profanity-forward mugs, candles, cards and pins. The pitch is simple: unique gifts that will make the recipient laugh out loud.
Unblushing
Makes unapologetically rude greeting cards for birthdays, holidays and anything else, aimed squarely at people who are not easily offended. Everything is illustrated and printed by the studio.
Whiskey River Soap Co.
Makes soap, candles and bath products whose labels carry long, profane, extremely specific jokes. The product is decent; the label is the point.
